This is the rare, original issue of Frank Zappa's Freak Map, which locates and describes LA's freak subculture, as advertised on the sleeve of The Mothers' debut album ("FREAK-OUT HOT SPOTS! shows how to get to Cabters, Ben Frank's, Fred C. Dobbs, The Trip, The Whiskey A-Go-Go, The Brave New World, It's Boss, Bido Lito's, and many more interesting places. Also shows where the heat has been busting frequently, with tips on safety in police-terror situations"). Originally intended to accompany the record, it was obtainable by sending $1.00 to United Mutations, Frank's distribution company. A second version of the Freak Map appeared in Los Angeles Free Press #121 (Nov. 11, 1966), and a third, much smaller b/w edition, became available via head shops on Sunset Strip and other locations in Hollywood. A great example of Zappa's graphic design work. Water & oil demage; repaired with clear tape!! and folded as issued, but still in nice condition!!!VG-
